More April Fun

I’ve been out of town on a whirlwind trip, so I’m just now getting time to get back to posting. I’ve run three times since my last post.

Last Sunday morning Barb and I ran together. Originally we were going to do 6. But, it was so nice out and we were having so much fun that we did 7. It felt great. It was one of those days where I think I could have actually ran 10 miles, no problem. We did a 3/7 walk/run. Here’s the route we did:

And, here are our splits.

Went pretty well.

I also snagged the picture above, which was loads of fun.

On Wednesday Barb only had time for about 2o minutes, so I ran 1.5 miles before she came and then we ran 2 together. We ran the whole thing and kept about a 10.30 mile. It was nice. When I ran on my own I finished off my latest Flavia de Luce, “The Weed That Strings the Hangman’s Bag.” As always, a great time.

During my solo run I ended up stuck behind a train, so I snagged this picture:

Now that I’m back from my journey to the West, I needed to get in another run this week. I was just too exhausted yesterday, we did a hike and them some geocaching, so I waited for today. There’s been a threat of rain all day. Chris had work to do, so I took the kids out Geocaching again while there was a little rain. We struck out on our first two, but then the next three we found and they were all lots of fun (especially the ones in Everly Park).

When we got home I checked the weather and it said that we were safe from rain for about 2 hours, so I decided to head out on a “quick” run. Ha. I ended up doing 6 miles. I started and was feeling tired, but then I got into a rhythm. Plus, I’m loving my new book, Veronica Mars: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham. It takes up where the movie left off. Plus, Kristin Bell is reading it. It may not be the best mystery around, but it’s fun and it’s a perfect book for running.

This week I also finished Insurgent by Veronica Roth, the second book in the Divergent trilogy. The book wasn’t bad, but at this point I’m not really suspending belief anymore. People are mad about it, but I’m not sure why. It’s a super fun, quick series. I’ve just got one more to go. Maybe then I’ll see why everyone is pissed.

Here’s my run photo:

And, here’s my trip as well as my splits. I ran the first 50 minutes (so 4.55 miles) and then I did a 3/7 walk/run split the last 1.45 miles. It took just under 18 minutes.

There’s a rumor it’s going to snow and be cold tomorrow, so I’m glad I got in some running today before the madness hits.
